This 2-day course is for police officers and crisis workers who work in collaborative police/mental health teams such as Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Teams. Mental health topics will be covered in depth and applied to cases.
Participants must have attended the Crisis Intervention Team Training previously and be actively involved with police and mental health.
Mental Health De-Escalation for Fire Personnel
Fire personnel often respond to emergency calls involving people with mental health issues in crisis on a regular basis. Fire fighters have little to no training to deal effectively with people in a mental health crisis and are unsure where to turn to for additional assistance to prevent future crises from occurring.
Workshops range from 3 hours to 2 days and can be adapted to your fire department’s needs.
